WHY ARE MIDDLE-CLASS TAXPAYERS GIVING COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY $400MM IN THE FIRST PLACE??

LESSON: Stop the American Middle Class from being violated of their tax dollars to fund elite Ivy League schools, as these schools laugh all the way to bank for centuries, and politicians and technocrats take their huge slices (see life-long public servants living on Martha’s Vineyard - how is that possible?).

As you likely know from the years of JAM Views blogs, the bottom 2/5 of the United States pay basically zero taxes, the top 1/5 pays the great bulk of total taxes, and the middle 2/5 pays exponentially more taxes relative to their total incomes. A crime in so many ways.

Why have we allowed autoworkers, welders, and HVAC repair owners to carry the burden of America’s corruption and fraud for so long?  Why are their tax dollars funding these elite universities to do research (hah!) and pay for underprivileged to attend (hah!). Let’s fix the root problem and stop this completely, and then we can deal with the bizarre symptoms.

FACTS: Ivy League colleges and universities received more than $6 billion in federal funding (your taxes) in fiscal year 2023. Since 2018, $33 billion in federal contracts and grants flowed to these ten colleges, averaging $6.6 billion annually.

The majority of public funding given to Ivy League schools goes to indirect recovery costs, which are also considered on-campus overhead. For instance, Harvard takes approximately 69% of the top federal research grants for on-campus overhead. Yale takes about 67.5%, followed by Columbia 64.5% and Cornell and Dartmouth 64%. For comparison, Tunnels to Towers, www.twt.org, which saves veteran’s lives daily takes 2% for Overhead.

It's all a monstrous scam and it continues because the lawyers and judges graduate here, the politicians graduate here, and the trust-fund blue bloods have never been held accountable for screwing the middle class, until possibly now?

Don’t fix the symptoms. Fix the core problem and stop giving our money to these universities.  What does it produce? Art History majors, International Studies, Wall Street interns who never actually create anything, and millions who still live off Daddy’s checkbook even after $250k tuition.  Just stop it now, please.

Full Disclosure: I am a product of the U.S. Air Force Academy, which was 100% paid for by U.S. taxpayers, likely autoworkers, welders, and HVAC repair owners who paid my way. I am incredibly grateful as when they called me, I had no idea how this could happen. I love USAFA to my core since it was crazy hard - physically, mentally, emotionally, and academically. Yet, the last years I have been an ear to the forces which say even these Academy institutions have lost their way and forgotten their mission to produce Warriors and Results.  I am encouraged by the dismissal of all National Academy Board of Visitors and starting back over, as well as my own Alumni taking back the wayward Association of Graduates in order to Make USAFA Military Again – MUMA. But if they don’t succeed, I support its defunding also.  HVAC owners need a return on their dollars!
